Body Composition Lab

Our Body Composition Lab is a core lab facility within the University of Hawai’i Cancer, covering areas in Body Composition, Exercise Physiology, and Energy Metabolism to provide accurate and precise measures of physiological biomarkers for research and self-assessment.

Modalities

DXA Scan

Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry for Body Composition analysis.

Bod Pod

Body composition and volume measurements using air displacement.

3D Optical Scans

Full 3D image of the body with automatic circumference and length measurements.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis

Body analysis test using low-level currents.

Muscle Dynamometer

Measurement of muscle activation using isolated join movements and different resistance modes.

Metabolic Assessments

This includes tests for VO2max and Resting Metabolic Rate.
